Fingerless Gloves or Mittens??

I have been working almost exclusively with cashmere the last month or two, at least for scarves, hats and fingerless gloves.  I have had a lot of requests for fingerless gloves lately.  The trend has finally spread to the Midwest!

This cashmere sweater is thicker than most.   

Cashmere is perfect for fingerless gloves, as the gloves  are often worn all day.

This sweater had a lot of embroidery on it.

I usually add some needlefelting or embroidery.

This sweater was lamb's wool but still very soft and works well unless you are very sensitive to wool.

Repurposed Rabbits

It is lots of fun to hunt for wool sweaters. In some areas they are quite rare, such as a hunting spree in the U.P. of Michigan, which was presumed to be a good source for items to keep one warm.


 Garage sale hunting is so/so. Some days are good, some aren't.


 Like any good fisherman, I'm not going to tell you my exact locations for best fishing (or hunting in this case), but the challenges add to the excitement. Finding cashmere sweaters in bright colors, happens on only the best days.

Rabbits don't hibernate......so these little guys are anticipating falling leaves.
